There is nothing worse than having your mind scattered in all directions, making us feel out of order, and creating that unsettling anxiety feeling.
It is the hardest way to focus, get things done properly, and live a life of peace, wouldn’t you agree?
I’m always open to trying new methods to assist in keeping my mind calm, and focused. Above all, when I do find methods that have helped, I enjoy sharing those tips with everyone I know.
In other words, I value how important it is to share all the insight with you, as I know how beneficial it is to have a calm mindset.
“You don’t have to control your thoughts. You just have to stop letting your thoughts control you.”

Adhering to a mindful routine the second we awake in the morning is key, in order to set your mind up for success.
Moreover, creating a self care routine first thing in the morning will allow you to set the right intentions, and clarity about your day. Therefore, creating a much more level headed, and calm mind.
An easy method to incorporate to your mornings could be the morning 20/20/20 or 10/10/10 method. Each are fairly similar, however, the number indicates the time of which you do each task.
For instance:
- 20 minutes – stretching, light movement.
- 20 minutes – meditation, envisioning.
- 20 minutes – journal, read, review schedule.
If you’re limited on time, just simply switch each task to a 10 minute window.

3. Grounding.
Grounding is a technique designed to connect you in the present moment. This is an effective way to calm our mind, and create a sense of comfort.
You can approach this technique in various ways. These grounding techniques tend to use a few or all of your five senses.
Some of the most popular ways to utilize this method are:
- Deep breathing. Focusing inhaling deep, and exhaling out slow. Repeating for 2-3 minutes.
- Walking barefoot on the ground. (i.e. grass, sand, gravel, carpet, etc.) Focusing on the feel of the ground beneath you.
- Smelling a favorite feel good scent. This could be food, flowers, perfume/cologne, candle, etc.
Try each, and see which method works best for you. I find incorporating them all at there own appropriate time, to be very helpful.

Often times, especially when we’re stressed we tend to take shallow breaths. Making it harder for oxygen to circulate throughout your body. Moreover, breathing improperly can begin to cause havoc on the health of your heart, body, and mental state.
