Non-perishable foods don’t always sound appetizing or healthy. The reason being, is most of the time we have access to better quality food items, and we get accustom to cooking with certain ingredients.
We never really take the time to get creative on how to prepare healthy non-perishable food recipes. Most of us don’t even think about it until there is an emergency upon us.
Emergency situations come year round, especially if you live in a hurricane region like myself. So this is not my first rodeo in preparing recipes with non-perishable foods. I tend to think I’m a pro at it, at this point. (wink, wink)
Now I’m not saying not to indulge on the unhealthy, yet easy to eat foods like pop tarts, cereal, and chefboyardee. Heck I like to take advantage, and enjoy those items too during emergencies. If you are looking for easy non-perishable snacks to also have on hand Click >>> HERE
But I also like to include healthy meals as well. We’re stuck in the house anyways with all these different canned, and boxed food items. So why not get creative, and learn to make healthy meals with these non-perishable food items.
These healthy non-perishable food recipes are ones I have created, and tasted myself. So I know it’s yummy too!
Still be mindful that non-perishable are higher in sodium, preservatives, etc. This is why the shelf life on these foods are much longer. So ”healthy” in this case is not in strong comparison to organic, raw, or clean ingredients.
