Healthy habits that will change your life.
Today is all about sharing the habits that have evolved me as a person, changed my life for the better, and habits that will change yours too!
It’s the habits we create that make us who we are today. Habits can build or break us. Which is why it is so important to incorporate certain habits that will help elevate you, and your life as well.
Did You Know that it takes on average over 2 months before a new habit becomes automatic?
Studies have shown that it takes 66 days to be exact to form new habits.. Which is crazy to hear huh? Especially since we have always heard ” it only takes 21 days to change a habit”. (Wrong!)
Habits are a daily practice, and the sooner you can incorporate good beneficial ones, the better!
1. Developing A Bomb A** Morning Routine.
I’m sure you have heard this before.
However, I’m not just saying ” wake up early, juice, and go to work.” it’s much deeper than that.
Although, this could be a starting point for you if you have never developed a routine before.
Developing a morning routine has been a true game changer for me.
It allows you to create time for yourself, get in touch with your feeling, and the intentions you want to set for the day. You’re able to give your body, and mind the attention it needs.
As most women, we’re very nurturing, and tend to care for other’s needs first. Yet overtime we find ourselves drained, and burnout. Therefore, I have made it a priority to develop time for myself in the morning with no distractions.
The morning is best to developing time for yourself. You allow yourself to create your own intentions before the influence of the outside world tries to come in. It’s also the best time to move your body, get the blood flowing, and create the energy you want for the day.
This is a peek into what my morning routine tends to look like: (Note: not everyday is perfect. The goal is to have a plan, and execute the best you can.)
- Water, and A Cup of Green Tea.
- 5 Minutes Of Journal
- 5-10 Minute Guided Meditation/Visualization
- 10 Minute Stretch & Light Yoga Flow
- 10 Minute Reflect on goals/day.
Moreover, morning routines do not have to be long. Keep it simple. To help create your morning routine check this video out!

3. Self Investment/ Self Development.
Investing in yourself, is one of the most self fulfilling feelings, and truly one of my favorite things.
Have you ever heard of the famous saying ” When you stop growing you start dying.” – Lou Holtz
Well, it’s is true.
This is why most people get depressed is because, they lack growth in their life. Whether that be growth within relationships, and how one communicates, growth within a certain area at work, or growth in learning a new hobby.
Regardless of what area you evolve in, growth is essential to the happiness of your life.
I found in my self development journey that I have become way more self aware of not only my weakness’s, but also my strengths. I have also found that my self esteem continues to build the more I continue to learn and improve.
As you improve in certain areas of your life, you will begin to notice new opportunities present themselves, because now you’re more prepared, and ready to receive them
There are multiple avenues to learn, Here are some great resources:
- Hire a mentor.
- Buy a course.
- Listen to a self development podcast.
- Read a self help book or biography.
- Read a helpful blog.
- Watch “How To” videos on Youtube.
4. Schedule Time Blocking.
Holy Guacamole this has helped me tremendously!
Although, it takes a little bit of time in the front end to block it all out, but in the long run it’s a time saver.
Being able to open up my calendar, and have a majority of my day set, and planned in advance takes so much weight off my shoulders.
Moreover, I don’t waste time figuring out where to start or when any appts. are.
A helpful tip in time blocking, is to color coordinate everything. I have set colors for my gym time, work, appts, creating content, etc. This way I can sometimes just skim over the calendar quickly, and have a general idea of what my day and/or week is like.
Lastly, when you block time out for stuff like meal prepping, yoga class, or a gym session your more likely to get it done, and stick with it! 🙂
5. Getting Out In Nature.
If you want to instantly change your mood, energy level and feel less stressed..
Then, I suggest you get outside!
Getting out in nature, specifically in the daylight hours has shown to increase dopamine. Dopamine is one of the ” feel good ” chemicals in our brain. Which also affects our movement, memory and focus.
Haven’t you found that when its gloomy outside, and/or you happen to stay in all day that you feel sad, tired and just blaahhhhhh… It’s way easier to feel lazy, and unmotivated when the weather is cloudy and rainy out.
Therefore, when we ‘re outside, and the sun is shining down upon us we get an instant boost of energy, we feel happier, and we find that our mind calms down, and we become more present in the moment. (p.s. please wear SPF!)
Studies have shown that those who spend just 20 minutes outside during the daylight hours have increased immune support and vitamin D. Which are both clearly necessary for a longer life span.
So grab your SPF babe, and allow yourself some time in the sunshine!
